Local Lions raise money for COVID-19 protections

Cooper Hospital Foundation the recipient of borough organization's effort.

The Haddonfield Area Lions Club donated $2,000 to the Cooper Hospital Foundation in Camden this month, which is designated to be used for much needed personal protective equipment (PPE). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many hospitals have struggled with the increasing need for PPE.

Jack Tarditi, a Haddonfield Lion and member of the Cooper Hospital Foundation said, “We are grateful that we are able to help the brave healthcare workers at Cooper who have risked their own safety so that they could save others.”

The funds were made available with the help of David A. Skrivanek, Lions Governor of District 16L, in Stafford Township, N.J.

Haddonfield Area Lions President Alan Stedman said the contribution is a reflection of what the Lions stand for in the organization’s mission.

“Our organization is about giving to those in need whether it is people dealing with vision impairments, families in need of medical help, community services that rely on volunteer contributions or area hospitals.”
