Shawnee Baptist Church opens food pantry

Church opens food pantry for those in need during the pandemic.

Shawnee Baptist Church is excited to announce the opening of their Food Pantry
starting June 25.

Doors open for the community from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entrance for the pantry is on 303 Oakshade Road, Shamong, at the lower circle as you enter the parking lot from Oakshade Road. It will be well-marked for your visit.

The process to receive right now is simple as Christa Graeber explains, “If someone needs food, they will simply get food.”

Many members at Shawnee Baptist Church started assisting other local food pantries during this pandemic crisis time to help with their supplies. The local pantries were challenged with getting the amount of food supplies needed for the high demand, compounded with the limitation put on number of items allowed to purchase by the stores due to supply chain distribution issues.

As the amount of food donations increased and the lines of families facing food insecurities increased, it became clear that another pantry in the community was much needed.

Shawnee Baptist Church Food Pantry will be open every Thursday starting on June 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
