In response to the coronavirus pandemic, drive-ins are making a comeback both on the big screen and in church congregations.
Once a novelty idea of the 1950s, on Sunday, June 7 at 10 a.m., St. John’s Lutheran Church members and community friends will come together for drive-in worship on the lawn, with distanced parking and low-frequency FM radio broadcasting.
All channels will be tuned into 107.1 FM to hear Pastor Tammy Harmer conduct the church service from a raised deck, accompanied by live music. Communion will be safely distributed to individuals in their cars using long, handcrafted church sticks. The driver of each vehicle must wear a mask when receiving the elements.
St. John’s is located at 970 South Main Street in Williamstown. The rain date is Sunday, June 14. For more information, call the church at (856) 875-8742.
