COVID-19 Update: Cases, deaths continue to decline in Gloucester County

The county posted 12 new cases on Wednesday, the fifth straight day the number of cases was in the teens.

Gloucester County’s number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths continues to decline this week. Gloucester County confirmed 12 new cases on Wednesday and had no COVID-19 deaths to report for a second straight day.

The 12 new cases tie with June 1 for the fewest reported in a single day in the county since late March. Here is a breakdown of the new cases by municipality:

  • Clayton – 1
  • Deptford – 1
  • Franklin Twp. – 1
  • Glassboro – 3
  • Mantua – 1
  • Monroe Twp. – 1
  • Washington Twp. – 2
  • West Deptford – 1
  • Woolwich – 1

Gloucester County’s seven-day average of COVID-19 cases has also dropped to its lowest points since the last week of March this week. The county averaged 19.9 new cases of COVID-19 over the past seven days. Here is a breakdown of Gloucester County’s rolling seven-day average number of COVID-19 cases by week:

  • March 26 to April 1 – 17.6 cases per day
  • April 2 to April 8 – 27.0
  • April 9 to April 15 – 35.3
  • April 16 to April 22 – 37.3
  • April 23 to April 29 – 51.1
  • April 30 to May 6 – 44.3
  • May 7 to May 13 – 30.7
  • May 14 to May 20 – 35.1
  • May 21 to May 27 – 27.0
  • May 28 to June 3 – 19.9

The county’s seven-day average of COVID-19 deaths has dropped to its lowest point since mid-April, with the county reporting seven deaths over the past seven days. Here is a breakdown of Gloucester County’s rolling seven-day average number of COVID-19 deaths by week:

  • March 26 to April 1 – 0.3 per day
  • April 2 to April 8 – 0.4
  • April 9 to April 15 – 0.9
  • April 16 to April 22 – 2.7
  • April 23 to April 29 – 1.4
  • April 30 to May 6 – 3.6
  • May 7 to May 13 – 4.4
  • May 14 to May 20 – 4.6
  • May 21 to May 27 – 1.9
  • May 28 to June 3 – 1.0
