This is certainly not how we want to do our 15th season of Summer Stage, our award-winning musical theater camp, but to follow the theater mantra, “the show must go on”, the Moorestown Theater Company is moving our summer camp online. You can register now at MoorestownTheaterCompany.org.

We plan to offer the following for Online Summer Stage ’20, with these items the same for both our three-week sessions and our one-week sessions: ONLINE on Zoom (until we get word that we can hopefully gather in place inside); 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. daily; Monday to Friday (except for the week leading up to the Fourth of July, where there will be no Friday class) and with a weekly rate of $200 per child.

Our three three-week sessions of ‘Online Musicals’ will be for students ages 10 to 18, with an “Online Edition” musical streamed on the final day of each session. These three-week sessions will include these tentative shows on these dates: Session I will feature “The Big One-Oh!” from June 15 to June 19 and June 22 to June 26 as well as June 29 to July 2. Session II will feature “The Musical Adventures Of Flat Stanley” from July 6 to July 10, July 13 to July 17 and July 20 to July 24. Session III will feature “Dear Edwina” from July 27to July 31, Aug. 3 to Aug. 7 and Aug. 10 to Aug. 14.

Our nine one-week sessions of ‘Theater Arts’ will be for students ages 6 to 12, with various half-our classes in such possible arts as acting, dance (ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap), voice, Broadway ‘boot camp’, costuming, play writing, puppetry, TikTok challenges, video and others to be added. These one-week sessions will be held from June to August. See MTC’s website for specific dates. These weekly sessions will be led by MTC Summer Stage ’19 teachers and counselors (plus a few new faces)!

We are still hoping to find a way to have these one-week and / or three-week sessions in person as our state opens up. Please keep checking our website for more information.

MTC is also offering Musical Theater Classes On-line (MTCOs) via Zoom. We have MTCOs in acting, dance, music, puppetry and Shakespeare. Students can register for any of these MTCOs by visiting MoorestownTheaterCompany.org and clicking on the registration link at the top of the site.

We are holding Virtual Rehearsals (VRs) for our Counsel Stage production of “Disney’s High School Musical, Jr.” and our Winter Stage production of “Disney’s Moana, Jr.” that have been put on hold. We do plan to still perform these two great Disney musicals, with “High School Musical, Jr.” hopefully being ‘streamed’ online next weekend, and “Moana, Jr.” coming later this summer.

Please visit MoorestownTheaterCompany.org for more information or you can call (856)778–8357 to ask any questions.
