COVID-19 cases decline in Gloucester County over Memorial Day weekend

The 14 cases reported on May 25 were the fewest in a single day in Gloucester County since March 28.

COVID-19 cases and deaths continued to decline in Gloucester County throughout the Memorial Day weekend, with the seven-day case average reaching its lowest point since the first week of April.

Below are the number of positive COVID-19 cases reported in Gloucester County on each day from May 22 to May 26:

  • May 22 – 28 cases
  • May 23 – 16 cases
  • May 24 – 32 cases
  • May 25 – 14 cases
  • May 26 – 15 cases

Over the past five days, Gloucester County has reported the deaths of nine residents ill with COVID-19. Five of the nine were residents of Deptford: a 69-year-old man, an 80-year-old man, an 83-year-old woman, an 88-year-old woman and a 90-year-old woman. The other four deceased were an 84-year-old woman from Franklin Twp., a 67-year-old woman from Monroe Twp., a 79-year-old woman from Washington Twp., and an 83-year-old man from Woodbury.

Below are the number of positive COVID-19 deaths reported in Gloucester County on each day from May 22 to May 26:

  • May 22 – four deaths
  • May 23 – two deaths
  • May 24 – one death
  • May 25 – two deaths
  • May 26 – no deaths

Gloucester County reported no deaths on May 26. It was the first day with no reported deaths in the county since May 3.
