Gloucester County reports uptick with 34 new COVID-19 cases, seven new deaths on May 15

The 34 new cases is the highest single-day total in the county in six days.

Gloucester County reported an uptick in both COVID-19 cases and deaths of patients ill with COVID-19 on Friday, May 15.

Gloucester County health officials are reporting 34 new COVID-19 cases and seven new deaths. The seven deaths are the most in a single day in Gloucester County since May 5. Included in the total are three Deptford residents, two Paulsboro residents and two Washington Township residents.

The 34 new COVID-19 cases brings Gloucester County’s overall total up to 1,783 since the start of the pandemic. The new cases are broken down as follows by municipality:

  • Clayton – 1
  • Deptford – 20
  • Glassboro – 2
  • Greenwich Twp. – 1
  • Monroe Twp. – 3
  • Washington Twp. – 5
  • West Deptford – 1
  • Woodbury – 1

Gloucester County’s next drive-thru COVID-19 testing date is Thursday, May 21. Tests will be offered at Rowan College of South Jersey in Deptford beginning at 10 a.m.

Tests will be performed by appointment only. Gloucester County residents 18 and older who want to be tested must call the COVID-19 Call Center at (856) 218-4142 to be pre-screened. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Gloucester County testing site is open to Gloucester County residents only. Proof of residency is required.
