Levin, LaPlante perform with others in international choir performance

Suzanne Chadwick submitted the following release on Levin and LaPlante's achievement.

When the stay-at-home order started, Suzanne Chadwick saw a posting on a singer forum for a choir and she had asked private voice students if they wanted to join.

Alyssa Levin and Hunter LaPlante, both of Shawnee High School, chose to participate.

They had to learn “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in a week and make a recording on their own to submit for the international virtual chorus performance. Chadwick worked with them on it during virtual lessons, and they submitted their videos with LaPlante chosen as a soloist.

Chadwick and husband Michael, who own The Village Carolers, also participated; Chadwick said she was thrilled 300 musicians from 15 countries put the video together and one of her students was chosen as one of three soloists.

Chadwick exclaimed how proud she is of the two, adding they made art and participated in something larger than themselves during one of the worst times in world history.
