Shamong adopts new grace period for second quarter taxes

The township committee adopted an extended grace period following Gov. Murphy's blessings.

The Shamong Township Committee has adopted a resolution granting the extension of the second quarter grace period.

Second quarter taxes grace period has been extended until June 1; payments received after will be charged interest back to May 1.

This is not a change of the second quarter due date, this is an extension of the grace period.

The state has frozen the Homestead Rebate, so there are no credits to the second quarter taxes.

Due to COVID-19, the township office is closed to the public. If you would like a receipt when paying your taxes, include a self-addressed stamped envelope with your payment and a receipt will be mailed to you.

Mail payments to 105 Willow Grove Road, Shamong, NJ 08088. Or place payment in drop-box located at entrance of municipal building closest to meeting room, cash payments are not acceptable.

Payments can be made online, but note there is a convenience fee of $1.99, which will be credited to your checking account for paying by e-check and a 2.95 percent charge if paying by VISA debit. Visit Shamong.net for more information.
