BCS able to assist district families affected by COVID-19

The state Department of Agriculture has received a waiver to allow school districts to provide meals to students who may not have previously qualified for free or reduced-price meals

The following is a release by Berlin Community School:

The state Department of Agriculture has received a waiver to allow school districts to provide meals to students who may not have previously qualified for free or reduced-price meals but whose families have experienced financial hardship as a result of COVID-19.

This waiver will remain in effect until June 30, or until the expiration of the federally declared public health emergency, whichever is earlier.

Therefore, if you are a BCS family that previously did not qualify for free or reduced lunch, but are now facing financial hardships due to the COVID-19 and need meals, the school district can provide them for you.

Contact Berlin Community School for more information.
