Mayor Rich DiLucia has announced the acquisition of a parcel of land that is adjacent to the Monroe Township Bike Path and will be converted to a parking area providing access to the trail for residents and visitors.
Located on Sykes Lane, off Tuckahoe Road, this will be a convenient location for runners, bikers and walkers to access the trail. Many thanks to the joint efforts of the Monroe Township Department of Public Works, Monroe Municipal Utilities Authority, Township Council, the Environmental Commission, the Open Space Advisory Committee and Sustainable Monroe Township, in achieving this goal for the community. As part of the circuit trails, (https://circuittrails.org/) this 6.36-mile multi-use paved trail begins on the Monroe side on Bluebell Road, across from the Monroe Township Police Department, parallels Route 322 and ends at Route 47 in Glassboro.
Monroe Township’s “Salem” oak, a seedling tree from a 500-year-old oak will be the first addition this spring. Come out with the family and friends to enjoy the scenery and solitude of this wonderful multi-purpose trail.
