Superintendent Robert Fisicaro announces resignation from Mantua Township schools

Fisicaro's resignation was announced in a statement on Thursday, one day after he was approved as the new superintendent in the Haddon Township School District.

Mantua Township School District Superintendent Robert Fisicaro has announced his resignation from his position effective July 31. Fisicaro’s resignation was announced by school officials on April 9, one day after he was named the new superintendent for the Haddon Township School District, a position he will begin in on Aug. 1.

Fisicaro has been superintendent of the Mantua Township School District for six years. He leaves behind a legacy for expanding preschool, developing wellness initiatives and implementing numerous school and community-wide character education programs. Under his leadership, the district received the highest honor as a 2018 National District of Character for providing leadership and advocacy to optimize success which leads to stronger communities.

“The accomplishments over the last six years are only a result of strong partnerships and the dedication of many. I will be forever grateful to our board of education, motivated staff, and dedicated parents. In addition to our achievements in recent years, it will be the relationships formed that I will always carry with me and look back on fondly. I know that the Mantua Township School District will always soar above and beyond,” Fisicaro said in a statement.

“Dr. Fisicaro has been a true asset to Mantua Township School District. The leadership he brought to the district has been invaluable. He committed his time to ensure quality education was accessible to all students and a safe learning environment was provided to all students and staff. Dr. Fisicaro will be missed in Mantua. On behalf of the Mantua Township Board of Education, I would like to thank Dr. Fisicaro for his dedication and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors,” stated Bonnie Nuss, president of the Mantua Township Board of Education.

The board of education will share more details soon regarding the upcoming search for Dr. Fisicaro’s replacement.
