Seven new COVID-19 cases announced in Gloucester County

Four of the seven cases involved Washington Township residents, with other cases involving residents from Monroe Township, Deptford and West Deptford.

Seven new positive COVID-19 cases have been announced in Gloucester County, according to health department officials, bringing the county’s total COVID-19 case amount to 26.

The seven new cases are as follows:

  • A 56-year-old male from Monroe Township
  • A 77-year-old female from Washington Township
  • An 82-year-old female from West Deptford
  • A 52-year-old male from Washington Township
  • A 40-year-old male from Washington Township
  • A 61-year-old male from Deptford
  • A 44-year-old female from Washington Township

The Gloucester County Department of Health and Human Services is working with the New Jersey Department of Health to conduct a full assessment that includes identifying the contacts these individuals have had.

County health official reiterate that the COVID-19 threat to residents remains low, though they expect cases to continue to rise. Social distancing is critical in flattening the curve and reducing cases. A mask should only be worn if a healthcare professional recommends it.

New Jersey residents can call 2-1-1 or (1-800) 962-1253 with questions. The call center is open 24/7 and has multi-language capacity.

Residents can also text NJCOVID to 898-211 to receive text information and stay informed.

Most people with mild symptoms do not need to be tested. It is important to stay home and isolate from others while sick.
