There are many ways to say ‘Happy birthday’ to an author who gave the world many lines such as ‘I am Sam, Sam I am, that Sam I am’ among others during Read Across America Week.
Kirby’s Mill Elementary School celebrated the children’s author’s posthumous birthday with a group reading between the older and younger kids on March 2. Students had spent the hour helping one another read lines in their books and laughing over the stories within.
