Rowan College searches for ‘Startup Star’

Do you watch Shark Tank? Now’s your chance to place yourself in a similar, yet friendlier situation.

If you have an authentic business idea, you could become Rowan College at Burlington County’s next Startup Star! This competition invites aspiring entrepreneurs from all backgrounds (including high school students) to pitch their ideas before a panel of experts.

To enter, develop a viable business plan, including an income statement. Entrants compete in either RCBC students, high school students or the aspiring community entrepreneurs categories. Proposals must be submitted by March 4.

Top finalists will present their ideas in front of a panel of judges and compete for prizes, including three free classes, on April 2 at 6 p.m. in the Student Success Center on RCBC’s Mount Laurel Campus.

“We look forward to highlighting the ingenuity of our students and entrepreneurship throughout the community, in a competitive and fun environment,” RCBC President Dr. Michael A. Cioce said. “If you have ever thought about starting up a business, Rowan College at Burlington County’s Startup Stars provides a great opportunity to take that first step.”
