Mantua Township patrol summary: Jan. 22 to 29

The following are on file at the Mantua Township Police Department.

Jan. 22

  • Units responded to a vehicle that struck a deer on Lambs Road in the area of Main Street.
  • Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Mantua Boulevard in the area of Sussex in which there was a minor injury that went to the hospital and a vehicle needed to be towed.
  • Patrols responded to a missing person report that was last seen the day prior.
  • Officers assisted the code enforcement officer with a resident in Wenonah that was uncooperative.
  • Units took a fraud report in which a debit card was used for over $2,500.
  • Patrols responded to a domestic dispute between a couple in which a restraining order was applied for and granted.
  • Officers responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of the Wawa on Route 45.
  • We also responded to a crash on Mantua Avenue in front of a dance studio in Wenonah.
  • Units responded to another crash in Wenonah on Glassboro Road at Maple Avenue in which both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.
  • Officers took a harassment complaint in which the victim’s ex-husband was threatening her.

Jan. 23

  • Units responded to a male staggering in the parking lot of Home Depot. An ambulance was requested and he was transported to the hospital for treatment.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute in which one of the subjects was intoxicated.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Route 45 in the area of Boody Mill Road in which both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.
  • Officers started to respond to a missing young juvenile, however, they were quickly located and our services weren’t needed.

Jan. 24

  • Units responded to Walgreens for a subject that attempted to use counterfeit money.
  • Patrols assisted a disabled vehicle on Glassboro Road by Tyler Mill Road.
  • Officers responded to a landlord whose tenant left items outside of the house when they moved out, which included a handgun.
  • Units responded along with the fire department for gas fumes coming from inside a house.
  • Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash in which a neighbor struck a parked car while backing out of the driveway.
  • Units responded to a hit-and-run crash on Route 45 in the area of Telford Inn.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for drug-related charges. He was processed and sent to the hospital for making suicidal threats.

Jan. 25

  • Units responded to a domestic dispute in Wenonah involving an intoxicated male. He was arrested and charged with strangulation. The victim had minor injuries.
  • Officers along with the fire department responded to a trash can on fire in the street.
  • Patrols responded to a single-vehicle crash on Main Street by Chestnut Branch Park for a vehicle that struck a pole.
  • A tree fell into and blocked Center Street but officers were able to move it out of the roadway.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute between an estranged couple where arguing and a restraining order was requested and granted.
  • Units also responded to a tree in the roadway on Breakneck Road and were able to move that one also.
  • Officers responded to the Chick-Fil-A for two motorists arguing in the drive through line.
  • Patrols responded to a minor crash in the parking lot of Total Turf.
  • Units responded to the Walgreens store for shoplifting that had just occurred.
  • Officers responded to an assault that occurred between two roommates while one was moving out and accused the other of taking items that were not hers.

Jan. 26

  • Units responded to an Uber driver that had assaulted his passenger’s family member who had confronted him.
  • Officers were dispatched to a report of a fight in the parking lot in the Villages of Berkley, however, it turned out to be two people having a calm conversation.
  • Officers responded to a male in cardiac arrest and CPR was in progress.
  • Units responded to the super Wawa for a report of theft of gas.
  • Officers took a report of harassment for a co-worker that was sending the victim inappropriate messages.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along Breakneck Road.
  • Special Officer Flem found a vehicle in Ceres Park after the park had closed and issued the couple a local ordinance for the violation.

Jan. 27

  • Ptl. Krieger conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. He was processed and released.
  • Units responded to the Wawa on Route 45 for an employee theft.
  • Patrols responded to a late report of a hit-and-run crash that occurred in the parking lot of Lowe’s.
  • Officers followed-up on a missing person report that was located in the hospital.
  • Units took a report of vehicle burglary and theft that had occurred from a vehicle at Target.
  • Patrols responded to a solicitation complaint for subjects that knocked on his door after he posted his no-knock sticker.
  • Officers responded to a crash that occurred on Tyler Mill Road by Glassboro Road.
  • Patrols responded to a single-vehicle crash on Main Street by New Street in which a deer was struck.
  • Ptl. Crispin arrested a subject for an outstanding warrant. He posted bail and was released.
  • Units responded to a report of a female yelling in her vehicle in Wenonah. Officers arrived and found she was singing to herself.

Jan. 28

  • Sgt Herner conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for an outstanding warrant. He was processed and released.
  • Officers responded to an intoxicated suicidal male. He was transported to the hospital for treatment.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Center Street by Mantua Boulevard where one vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.
  • Officers checked on a female that appeared to be disoriented by the Walgreens. She was found to have dementia and was taken back home.
  • Ptl. Bair conducted a motor vehicle stop at 9 a.m. and arrested the driver for DUI.
  • Units responded to a dog-barking complaint in Wenonah.
  • Officers took a missing person report for a missing juvenile that was located about an hour later at a co-parents’ house.

Jan. 29

  • Units responded to a crash on Lambs Road and Tylers Mill Road involving two vehicles that were reported to possibly be on fire. Both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.
  • Units responded to a crash in Wenonah in which a vehicle struck a pole on Glassboro Road. It turned out to be in Deptford Township’s jurisdiction and was turned over to them.
  • Patrols responded to a suspicious person in the lot of the vacant Kmart.
  • Officers responded to ATVs riding in the Crescent Hollow Development.
  • Ptl. Wolfsgruber conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. She was processed and released.
