Suspect charged with recent burglaries in Berlin Borough

Berlin Police have arrested and charged a borough resident with the recent burglaries on Leroy Avenue and Ridgeview Avenue

Berlin Police have arrested and charged a borough resident with the recent burglaries on Leroy Avenue and Ridgeview Avenue.

On Dec. 26th, Berlin Township Police were dispatched to a burglary in progress in their jurisdiction. While attempting to assist them, a Berlin Borough patrol officer stopped a male who appeared to have been running on E. Taunton Avenue towards the White Horse Pike.

The male attempted to discard a bag of jewelry as the officer was speaking with him. He was later taken into custody by Berlin Township Police on scene. A search of the male’s residence resulted in detective’s recovering stolen proceeds from the burglary on Ridgeview Avenue from earlier in the week.

The male was subsequently processed and charged with two counts of burglary, criminal mischief and theft and one count of hindering apprehension. He was then remanded to Camden County Jail and is set to appear in Camden County Superior Court.

Charges are mere accusations and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
