Miller, D’Andrea, Lewis-Gallagher and Simpler victorious in local elections

According to the Gloucester County Board of Elections, Cody Miller (D) defeated James “Jay” Reed in the race for the open Ward 2 council seat. Miller received 58.6 percent of the vote and Reed received 41.4 percent of the vote.

In the race for three open seats on the Monroe Township Board of Education, Jennifer Lewis-Gallagher, Michael D’Andrea and Jeffrey A. Simpler walked away victorious. Lewis-Gallagher, D’Andrea and Simpler received 19.49, 16.74 and 15.62 percent of the vote respectively. Tiffany Grandison (12.88 percent), Teresa Terzian (11.57 percent), James M. Henderson (11.04 percent), Joseph Rumpf, Jr. (7.92 percent) and Summer Merakian (4.35 percent) were also on the ballot.
