Tuesday, Nov. 5 is Election Day in New Jersey, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Residents of Gloucester Township can vote in races for Gloucester Township Council, Gloucester Township School District Board of Education, Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education, Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Camden County Clerk.

Voters will also vote on a state public question.

In the race for the four open seats for Gloucester Township Council, incumbents Orlando Mercado (D), Tracey Trotto (D), Michael Mignone (D) and Andrea Stubbs (D) are up against challengers Joseph Damico III (R) and Edward Small (R).

For the race for Gloucester Township Board of Education, there is one open seat for a two-year unexpired term when Brian Hammell is the lone listed candidate. Meanwhile, the three open seats for the three-year terms have eight seats on the ballot. Matthew Elliott Wilson, Victoria Smith and Joanne Rossell are running together under the affiliation of ‘Putting Children First.’ Incumbent Jennifer O’Donnell (Tired of Corruption) is also on the ballot. Linda Gilch, Ellen Reese, Robert Strong and Martita Diamond are also running for the open seats.

For the one open seat of the Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education representing Gloucester Township, Marguerite Mulvan opposes Kevin McElroy (Putting Children First).

When electing candidates to the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders, voters will have a choice of Melinda Kane (D) and Keith Cybulski (R) for an unexpired term, while Edward McDonnell (D) and Carmen Rodriguez (D) face off against Claire Gustafson (R) and Nicole Nance (R) for the other two open seats.

The county clerk election is between Joseph Ripa (D) and Roy Gustafson (R).

For the state question on this year’s ballot, voters will choose either “yes” or “no” on a constitutional amendment to give certain veterans’ benefits to residents of continuing care retirement communities. The proposed amendment would allow eligible veterans who live in such retirement communities to receive the same $250 tax deduction as veterans who live in private residences.
