Come join historian Deborah Peterson at the Indian King Tavern Museum on Saturday, Oct. 19, when she presents: “When the Armies Came to Your House.”
During the American Revolution, Haddonfield was often targeted by troops of both sides to obtain supplies. What was it like for people when soldiers came and took your food, stock, and other assorted goods? What do you suppose was the reaction of Hugh Creighton, the tavern’s first innkeeper? It is not the patriotic story you may imagine.
The talk will last approximately one hour, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
