With football season back and shore trips becoming a part of the past now that summer is in the rearview mirror, Voorhees Township residents have plenty of events and festivities coming up that they should jot down on their calendar moving forward.
For starters, the Voorhees Animal Orphanage’s 23rd annual Woofstock Festival is Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Voorhees Town Center. The event promises to have events and activities for both animal lovers and those simply looking for a festival.
Woofstock includes approximately 120 vendors and craft tables with 30 animal rescue groups, along with live entertainment, music, auction baskets and more across the front of the Voorhees Town Center.
In the beginning of October, the Voorhees Township Fire Department will be hosting a Fire Prevention Awareness Night, also taking place at the Voorhees Town Center. This is Thursday, Oct. 3 from 7 to 9 p.m.
At Fire Prevention Awareness Night, both adults and children will get the opportunity to meet with their local fire department while also viewing live demonstrations and actual equipment used on the job.
For the kids, the event includes games, a bounce house, fire extinguisher training and more.
On Saturday, Oct. 26, Voorhees Township will be hosting its annual Halloween and Fall Festival at the Voorhees Town Center from 1 to 4 p.m.
With free parking and free admission, families can enjoy a pumpkin patch, hayrides, Teal Pumpkin Table, costume parade, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artist, music and more.
Also at the event will be Sustainable Voorhees to teach residents sustainable activities.

The Animal Welfare Association’s Howl-o-ween Trunk or Treat will be on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. at its location at 509 Centennial Boulevard.
This event is free and pet-friendly, with the AWA encouraging pet owners to dress up their pets.
Residents will dress up their cars and be handing out candy and treats for both humans and pets. During the event, the AWA will also have carnival games, costume contests, pumpkin decorating and more taking place throughout its grounds.
