Volunteer Center of South Jersey announces new wellness initiatives

The first event of the series will be a half-day women's conference, "Life Balance: You First," on Saturday, Sep. 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Volunteer Center of South Jersey is proud to announce Wellness Initiatives, a new program series dedicated to health and wellness. The first event of the series will be an enlightening half-day women’s conference, “Life Balance: You First” on Saturday, Sep. 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event will take place at the Rowan College of South Jersey’s Gloucester campus in the Business and Corporate Center located in Sewell. Women of all ages will enjoy meeting special guests and local best-selling authors from Inspired Purpose and Grit and Grace Meditation. Ticket purchase includes a light breakfast, a swag-bag and a number of giveaways. The conference kicks-off with a meditation session workshop that will be sure to set the mindset for the rest of the day. Following the meditation, there will be three additional break-out sessions: nourishing the body and soul, the positive effects of habits and focus, and learning how to use the law of attraction.

“We are proud to bring these events to the South Jersey community. We wanted to reach individuals in our region, through this new initiative, not only to the volunteering community but all that can benefit from these in-depth sessions.” said Executive Director Michele Epifani. “This event in particular focusing on life balance, we want to assure people that we all experience a time in life where we have to say ‘no’ to volunteering and that’s okay,” continued Epifani.

Session presenters include:

Cheryl McBride: Grit and Grace Meditation
McBride is passionate about helping individuals step into their greatness and co-create their best life one breath at a time. Her meditation teachings include two practices that serve as a healing modality and create a deep and radical shift physically, spiritually and emotionally.

Penelope Jones: What Are You Really Hungry For?
In this interactive and eye-opening session, Jones dives into what drives our hunger, including a discussion on the concept “primary foods vs secondary foods” and how they differ. Jones will help you to connect the dots between these out of balance areas of your life and how that can affect your physical hunger.

Amy Broccoli: The Positive Effect Of Habit Formation
In this interactive and informative session, Broccoli concentrates on the positive effect of establishing daily habits and setting short term goals. The session will begin with a short introduction to the subject of habits, their effects on your daily life and how consistency breeds success. A 28-day calendar exercise will be a take-home from this session.

Tara Le Pera: The Law of Attraction, Unlock Your Power of Abundance
The Law of Attraction uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. Tara will go through steps and simplify how the Law of Attraction has the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on.
