On Sept. 14, the Community House of Moorestown will host its inaugural “House Party!” adult-only fundraiser from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The fundraiser is the first of this nature and came about as a spinoff to the organization’s popular wine tasting event.

The Community House is and always has been a gathering place for our community,” said Community House Executive Director Caryn Lynch. “Through our many events – the tree lighting, children’s holiday shop, wine tasting, and summer concerts to name a few – we aim to strengthen our community by welcoming everyone in town to come and enjoy this special and unique place.”

The “House Party!” will feature live music by singer and acoustic guitar player Matt Avery, as well as entertainment by a deejay.

Matt is a key west-style one man show – he is very entertaining and does more than 4,000 songs off the top of his head. Fun fact: he won ‘Star Search’ in 1990,” Lynch said.

There will be catered appetizers and desserts, food trucks serving dinner, and – for those with a competitive streak – a cornhole tournament officiated by local celebrity Rich Corbin.

“We will have prizes for cornhole winners, as well as raffle items and a 50/50. It is a casual alternative to the wine tasting and a great opportunity for adults in town to enjoy a fun night out,” Lynch said.

The fundraiser name is a play off of the organization’s name.

Obviously it is a fun and cheeky play on our name,” Lynch said. “Since 1926, it has been the community’s home and we want people to think of it that way. It belongs to all of us in town and we should all think of it as our home. And this event is all about fellowship and fun! With all that is going on in our lives and in the world how wonderful it is that we can all come together as a community and enjoy one another‘s company and just have fun. And where better to do it then at the Community House!”

According to Lynch, donations and reservation fees are essential to the existence of the Community House. Those looking to donate can send online donations through the Community House website at thecommunityhouse.com or directly through the mail.

Residents can also donate during planned giving, attending an event like the “House Party!” or by holding their own event at the Community House.

For tickets for the “House Party!” and to sign up to compete in the cornhole tournament, visit thecommunityhouse.ticketleap.com/house-party. Fundraiser tickets are $40 per person. The cornhole tournament is a $50 buy-in for a team of two.

The Community House of Moorestown is located at 16 E. Main St., Moorestown.
