Rowan College of South Jersey’s “Lunch with a Vet” was a sizzling success on Tuesday, Aug. 13, when hot dogs and hamburgers cooked on the grill were served with conversation and camaraderie.

More than $300 was raised during the summer cookout, in addition to a generous $500 scholarship donated to assist military students. The event, held to raise funds for the Student Veterans Association, was the first of many activities planned to support the approximately 150 veterans taking courses on the RCSJ Gloucester campus. The next SVA fundraiser is slated for Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Texas Roadhouse in Turnersville.
