Burlington Township schools kick off Operation Backpack

Schools are seeking donations of backpacks and school supplies.

The following is on file with the Burlington Township School District:

We are asking our community to donate brand new backpacks that are appropriate for Middle and High School students. Backpacks may be dropped off at the main office of any of our school buildings, or you may bring them to the Business Office in the Hopkins Building. Please use door #16 if bringing materials to Hopkins. We thank you in advance for your assistance.

Please bring your donations by Monday, Aug. 19. If you would like to make a monetary donation please make checks payable to The Burlington Township Foundation. Checks should be mailed to the Burlington Township Foundation, PO Box 428, Burlington, NJ  08016.

The Burlington Township School District tries our best to provide Township students with the proper materials so they will thrive in an academic environment and succeed at the highest levels. Assisting our students to begin the school year on the best footing possible is a community goal that we hope you will help us to achieve. Any and every donation will be greatly appreciated.

We need the following items. The numbers listed below indicate what we need for each item.

Backpacks – 80 (Targeted towards Middle School/High School Students)

Assorted Colored Folders – 100 (Preferably Solid colors)

Handheld Small Sharpeners – 80

Markers – 80 packs

Colored Pencils – 80 packs

Highlighters – 100 packs

Thin Expo Markers – 80 packs

Three Ring Binders – 80 (Preferably 1 inch binders)

Erasers – 80 (Big erasers – not the pencil tops)

Soft Pencil Cases – 30

Hard Pencil Cases – 30 (Preferably solid colors especially clear/pink/blue)

Glue Sticks – 80 (Preferably sticks over liquid)

Rulers – 80

Scissors – 80
