BTPD apprehends residential burglars

Arrests were made of four suspects responsible for a series of burglaries and thefts in the Sunset Ridge neighborhood of Burlington Township.

On Sunday, Aug. 4, the Burlington Township Police Department arrested four suspects responsible for a series of burglaries and thefts in the Sunset Ridge neighborhood of Burlington Township.

The investigation began at approximately 1:40 a.m. that morning when officers responded to a house in the unit block of Anthony Drive for a report of a residential burglary. The residents were home during the burglary and scared off the intruders prior to police arrival.

The suspects made off with several items to include a purse, wallet, cash and personal electronic devices. During the investigation, detectives discovered that the suspects were responsible for an additional motor vehicle burglary and theft within the neighborhood.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. that day, detectives tracked the suspects to a residence on Hinsdale Lane in Willingboro, NJ, where they were found to be in possession of some of the proceeds of their crimes.

All four suspects were arrested and transported back to the Burlington Township Police Department for processing. The following are their names, charges, and dispositions:

  • Davon Mungro (24-year-old male, Willingboro, NJ) charged with two counts of burglary, three counts of theft and one count of criminal mischief. Released pending his appearance in court.
  • Shane Gist (21-year-old male, Willingboro, NJ) charged with two counts of burglary, three counts of theft and one count of criminal mischief. Released pending his appearance in court.
  • Davonte Jackson (19-year-old male, Willingboro, NJ) charged with two counts of burglary, three counts of theft, and one count of criminal mischief. Remanded to Burlington County Jail.
  • 17-year-old male, Willingboro NJ charged with two counts of burglary, three counts of theft and one count of criminal mischief. Released to custody of parent.
