On Thursday, July 25, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., the Gloucester Township Police Department will be holding another GTPD E-Sports event at its new Training Center located in the Gloucester Premium Outlets.
The Gloucester Township Police were happy to have received a juvenile diversion grant to help connect with youth. This allowed the department to purchase video gaming systems, which became the birth of GTPD e-Sports that appears to be popular and inviting to many youth so far this summer. It’s a great time to beat the heat in the air conditioned training center at the Premium Outlets and play some video games while getting to know some of the police officers. GTPD e-Sports events are another opportunity for youth to build a special bond and relationship with the police.
This is an expansion to the department’s juvenile programs that they conduct along with the department’s certified social worker at the Family Resource Center located at 1324 Little Gloucester Road in Blackwood. The department’s social worker also attends the E-Sports events to speak with families about the department’s programs.
