Senior Associate Erika L. Goldberg of Charny Karpousis Altieri & Donoian, a law firm based in Marlton, has become the latest of the firm’s attorneys to volunteer with the South Jersey Legal Services, Inc. Private Attorney Involvement Program, providing support and advice on family law matters to low income individuals. Through its Family Assist Project, she met with four clients at the SJLS office in Woodbury on July 10. A strong proponent of children’s rights and volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in Burlington County, Goldberg provided counsel on issues including custody and parenting time.

According to the organization’s web site, South Jersey Legal Services, Inc., is a non-profit organization created to provide quality legal representation and advocacy to low-income individuals. We seek to empower low-income individuals to access the judicial system so they will achieve the greatest possible measure of substantive procedural, social and economic justice. “It is both important and rewarding to give back to people in our community,” Goldberg said. “If I can help improve the lives of even one family by sharing legal advice, it is all worth it.”

Goldberg has been practicing family law since 2008 and provides assertive representation for all types of clients, from less complicated divorce and family law cases to more complex divorce matters. Her family law practice focuses on all areas of divorce and family law, such as matters involving custody and child support, alimony, equitable distribution, college tuition funding, prenuptial agreements and domestic violence. She also represents the firm’s clients in the sale of their marital homes. Goldberg serves as a matrimonial early settlement panelist in Burlington and Gloucester counties. She is currently a member of the Camden County and Gloucester County Bar Associations, and is a barrister in the Thomas S. Forkin Family Law Inns of Court. Further, in recognition of her expertise in divorce and family law, Goldberg has been named to the New Jersey Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list. She is also a strong community advocate and a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in Burlington County.
