No injuries reported after tornado touches down in Mt. Laurel

The National Weather Service confirmed that the tornado touched down in the Mt. Laurel Industrial Plaza shortly after 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly has confirmed that an EF0 landspout tornado touched down in Mt. Laurel on Saturday afternoon.

According to information from the National Weather Service, the tornado touchdown occurred at 2:07 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The tornado hit in an industrial area and did not affect any residences.

According to Mt. Laurel Police, damage was reported along the 100 block of Gaither Drive. Surveillance video showed a parked car being flipped over. Damage to a building’s roof and air conditioning units was also reported. The Mt. Laurel Fire Department also posted a video of the tornado on social media.

The tornado was rated an EF0, the lowest rating on the Enhanced Fujita scale, with top wind speeds of 70 miles per hour. The tornado was on the ground for 0.07 miles and had a maximum width of five yards. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
