Evesham Police arrest woman who falsely reported a man had a gun and was threatening to shoot her

On June 20 at 2:46 p.m., officers with the Evesham Township Police Department responded to the 400 block of Barton Run Boulevard for a report of a male allegedly armed with a gun and allegedly making threats to harm an adult female and two juveniles.

The following information is on file with the Evesham Township Police Department:

On June 20, at 2:46 p.m., officers with the Evesham Township Police Department responded to the 400 block of Barton Run Boulevard for a report of a male allegedly armed with a gun and allegedly making threats to harm an adult female and two juveniles.

After failed negotiating attempts, police units forced entry into the residence and took the male into custody.

During a follow up investigation on June 21, investigators determined that the caller, in an attempt to receive a faster police response, had allegedly falsely reported that the suspect was in possession of a gun and threatened to shoot her. On this date, police arrested the caller  for falsely reporting a second-degree crime.

Arrested:

A female, age 24, of Marlton, was charged with filing a false police report in the second degree. She was released on her own recognizance.
