Bellmawr man arrested for Medford burglary

Police believe the man used a screw driver to gain entry at the Sunoco gas station in an attempt to steal gas.

The following information is on file with the Medford Township Police Department:
On June 17, at 12:13 a.m., Medford Township Police were patrolling in the area of Route 70 and Hartford Road when a subject, dressed in black, was observed exiting the closed Sunoco gas station. The subject walked toward the rear of the business and disappeared into the darkness. Officers located a black Toyota Corolla parked between a dumpster and the tree line; noting the vehicles windows were left down along with the keys inside the ignition.
As officers checked the building the subject was seen running in the woods behind the building. After several attempts were made to call the subject out of the wooded area, a Voorhees Police K9 unit further assisted with the investigation and the subject was apprehended and identified as Eric Gravinese, age 49, of Bellmawr, New Jersey. During the investigation officers believed Gravinese used a screw driver to gain entry through the front door in an attempt to steal gas. Gravinese was charged with burglary, obstruction and possession of burglary tools. Gravinese was also issued motor vehicle summons for driving while suspended and being an unlicensed driver. He was released on summons complaints pending an appearance in Burlington County Superior Court.
