HJE looking for Haddonfield host families

Help out the Haddonfield Japan Exchange and build international friendships by being a host family next month.

The Haddonfield Japan Student Exchange has received a recent request from its Japanese counterpart to increase the number of students that will take part in this year’s exchange. The HJE has approved the increase, and now we must find additional host families.

This is where we are counting on the great reputation Haddonfield has for hospitality.

Host families will be needed from July 12 through the morning of July 23. The duties of a host family are to have a son or daughter from 8th grade through seniors in high school at home, and are to include: providing a bedroom or shared bedroom with someone of a similar gender; provide breakfast and dinner; share your typical daily lifestyle with your guest.

Activities have been planned for the exchange students during the length of their stay and include: a Phillies game, trip to the Jersey shore, tubing on the Delaware, bowling, cookout and a visit to historic Philadelphia.

In addition, host parents and host students will be guests of honor at the HJE Sayonara Dinner at Tavistock Country Club. Hosting students will be given priority consideration when the selection of Haddonfield Memorial High School students are chosen for next year’s trip to Japan. This is a prime opportunity to develop lifelong, international friendships.
