Borden has been a member of the Evesham Police Department for 10 years and is being commended for his “outstanding sense of service to the community and commitment to making the township a better place.”

In May, officials say Borden organized a large toy drive to benefit children who have received medical treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

At the conclusion of every appointment, each child receives a toy prior to leaving the facility.

Borden was made aware that over half of the stock of toys was stolen, depleting the resources for the children in need.

Borden organized the event, which took in a large quantity of donated toys, and deliver the toys on behalf of the department and FOP Lodge No. 143.

Officials say Borden’s act displayed an “outstanding sense of service” to the community, as well as allowing a sense of comfort for children undergoing a difficult time in their life.
