BTPD release outcome of recent participation in Click it or Ticket mobilization

Crackdown on motor vehicle violations resulted in 300 total summonses.

Public Safety Director Bruce Painter is pleased to announce that the Burlington Township Police Department recently participated in the national “Click it or Ticket” Seat Belt Mobilization Campaign.

Between the dates of May 20 and June 2, officers patrolled the roadways of Burlington Township and aggressively enforced motor vehicle violations with the following results:

25 suspended driver summonses
20 seat belt summonses
19 speeding summonses
14 careless driving summonses
Six cell phone/texting summonses
Four reckless driving summonses                                                                                    212 other summonses                                                                                                   —————————————–
300 total motor vehicle summonses

In addition, officers assigned to the initiative made two alcohol related DWI arrests, one drug related DWI arrest, two drug arrests and 19 warrant arrests.

PSD Painter credits all the men and women of the Burlington Township Police Department for making this initiative so successful and for making Burlington Township a safe community. Whereas the operational period for this initiative has ended, the Burlington Township Police Department remains committed to improving seat belt compliance in an attempt to decrease the number of traffic fatalities and injuries.
