Mayor Michelle Arnold received notice from NJ Transit Thursday evening indicating light rail service would be temporarily suspended due to mechanical issues. Limited service has since been restored.
Beginning Friday, June 7, and continuing until further notice, River Line will operate with very limited service due to emergency mechanical inspection and repairs. Substitute bus service will be provided through the day to supplement light-rail service.
Currently River LINE has four cars operating along the line and additional cars will be returned to service as they pass inspections. River LINE will continue to operate the substitute bus service and provide additional updates as new information becomes available.
Customers will be accommodated by special express bus service between the four highest ridership stations as well as existing local bus service operating along the River LINE route.
