Police investigation car-related crimes in town

On May 23, officers from the Harrison Township Police Department responded to reports of numerous calls for several vehicles being entered and ransacked between May 22 at 9 p.m. andMay 23 at 9 a.m. in the Remington Estates, Woodland Run and Twelve Oaks developments.

One victim reported a pair of Coach sunglasses removed from one of their vehicles, another victim reported a white iPhone charger taken and one victim reported $25 in cash taken. In addition to the vehicles that were entered, a resident of North Main Street reported his vehicle was stolen.

Officers also recovered a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Mt. Laurel in the Twelve Oaks development. Later, the victim of the stolen vehicle was contacted by detectives from the West Deptford Police Department notifying him they found some of his personal items while investigating a motor vehicle theft from their jurisdiction.

Officers were able to obtain video surveillance footage from one of the victims. The footage depicts two subjects dressed in all black clothing with their heads and faces covered. One subject is wearing what appears to be white gloves and a white baseball hat, the other is wearing blue gloves.

The subjects casually walk up the victim’s driveway and enter several unlocked vehicles and the open garage. The subjects then casually walk away. The video can be seen on the Harrison Township Police Facebook page.

The incidents are being investigated by Ptl. Christopher Cartella, Ptl. Christopher Foster and Ptl. Mark Dillon. They are being assisted by Det. Adam McEvoy, who is working with the West Deptford and Mt. Laurel Police Departments. Residents of the above listed areas who saw or has video surveillance capturing these subjects are asked to contact Det. McEvoy at (856) 478-6839 ext. 1616.
