Mantua Township patrol summary, May 16 – 22

The following are on file at the Mantua Township Police Department.

May 16

  • Officers assisted a motorist who had locked his keys in his vehicle at his residence.
  • Units investigated a suspicious person on Glassboro Road by Route 55. Turned out he was out of gas and was attempting to get his vehicle back on the road.
  • Patrols stood by on Glassboro Road in the area of Mantua Boulevard for a vehicle that lost its load in the roadway.
  • Units responded to a tree partially in the roadway on Breakneck Road. Officers moved the debris to clear the road.
  • Officers took a theft report for a roommate who stole items while moving out.

May 17

  • Units took a report for a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent.
  • Officers responded to a minor crash on Mantua Boulevard at Spruce Street, but the drivers agreed to handle it amongst themselves.
  • Ptl Layton and Ptl. Oldrati responded to a suspicious person call in which a female was yelling at her apartment for help. Responding units arrived and found a vehicle pulling away that the female stated was involved. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver and the initial female for possession of drugs.
  • Ptl. Oldrati arrested a subject by The Home Depot for an outstanding warrant.
  • Units responded to a two-vehicle crash on Main Street by Mt. Royal Road
  • Units responded to vehicles racing in the Kmart parking lot.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a car stop and arrested an occupant for possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 18

  • Units assisted the Deptford Police with a motor vehicle crash in which the operator was arrested for DUI.
  • Patrols responded to a single-vehicle crash in which a vehicle struck a traffic light standard, knocking it over, in front of the Barnsboro Inn.
  • Officers responded to a neighbor complaint as one neighbor placed a refrigerator by the trash with the doors still on.
  • Units responded to a 9-1-1 misdial and wound up arresting a resident from the home for an active warrant.
  • Units responded to a reported domestic dispute and found the male walking. He was arrested for possession of drugs during the investigation.
  • Officers assisted a motorist who had locked their keys in their vehicle while at their house.
  • Units took a harassment complaint.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along Breakneck Road.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute in which the wife stated that her husband was following her.
  • Patrols responded to a hit-and-run crash at the Target store.
  • Patrols also responded to a hit-and-run crash at the Fulton Bank Operations Center.
  • Units responded to a minor crash on Tonkin Street in the area of Hill Street.
  • Units responded to a report of a homeowner setting off fireworks in Wenonah.
  • Officers assisted DYFS with an investigation at a residence.

May 19

  • Units assisted with traffic during a motorcycle run.
  • Officers took a harassment report for an employee of Target being harassed by their ex while working.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along Route 45.
  • Units responded to a vehicle that was egged in Centre City.
  • A subject turned himself in for an active warrant for not paying child support.

May 20

  • Units responded to a crash on Mantua Boulevard in the area of Cumberland Avenue in which two vehicles were involved.
  • Officers served a temporary restraining order.
  • Officers responded to a commercial motor vehicle crash in the lot of Peach Country Tractor on Route 322.
  • Patrols responded to a vehicle fire on Route 55.
  • Ptl. Crispin arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant. He was processed and released.

May 21

  • Ptl. Lawrence conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for an outstanding warrant. He was processed and released.
  • Units took an identity theft report in which the caller was reported to be from the Social Security Administration.
  • Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash in the Lowe’s parking lot.
  • Patrols received multiple calls for a vehicle driving erratically on Route 45 and passing vehicles on the shoulder. Officers checked the area but could not locate.
  • Units assisted two separate disabled vehicles in town. Officers were able to push the vehicles into a safe area where the drivers could wait for help.
  • Ptl. Krieger found a suspicious vehicle in the middle of nowhere. Investigation found two brothers that were reported missing from north jersey attempting suicide at that moment. They were transported to the hospital for treatment.

May 22

  • Units responded to a domestic between a landlord and their live-in tenant in which there was an allegation of an assault.
  • Officers responded with the fire department for a report of a cat stuck in a tree.
  • Patrols responded to a report of a 40 year old son that was acting out of control
  • Officers responded to a trespassing complaint for a report of subjects on her father’s property.
  • Units served a restraining order that originated in Gloucester City.
  • Ptl. Oldrati arrested a subject for possession of drugs following a pedestrian stop.
