YMCA of the Pines announced a change in its Board of Directors, including naming Lynne Stanwood-Leadbeater to succeed David Herron as Board Chair and Chief Volunteer Officer. Herron has been at the helm of the board at the Medford nonprofit for more than a decade, and opted to step down at the end of his current term. Stanwood-Leadbeater, who works as a contractor for the Federal Aviation Administration, has also been a long-time member of the board, and a devoted supporter of the organization. As a child, she attended girls’ sleepaway Camp Matollionequay; her grandmother, Lillie Brown, was a camp counselor at Matollionequay in its inaugural year, 1937.

“My extended family has been represented at one of the camps at YMCA of the Pines in every decade since Matollionequay opened,” Stanwood-Leadbeater said.

Besides Stanwood-Leadbeater, the board of directors now includes Board Vice Chair Joseph Michiels, a Senior Project Manager at BL Companies, Inc. and Board Secretary Kristi Howell, President/CEO of the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Other board members are Pat Begley, Nicki Bodenstein, Merle Brown, Robert Egan, Richard Lewis, Miles Powell, Robyn Rusinski and Marni Schatz.

“The board is charged with ensuring we are financially healthy, mission-oriented and strategically driven,” said CEO Mark Dibble. “I’m proud of our leadership; we have a clear path forward.”
