Friends of Burlington County Library to host used books/media sale from May 30 to June 2

Organizers say bargain hunters can find thousands of used books for their summer reading, as well as a wide selection of DVDs, CDs and more.

Locals are invited to swing by the Burlington County Library from May 30 to June 2 to browse The Friends of the Burlington County Library’s spring book sale.

According to those with the Friends, bargain hunters can find thousands of used books for their summer reading, as well as a wide selection of DVDs, CDs and more available in the library’s meeting room in Westampton on the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, May 30, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 2, from to 4 p.m.

In addition, a preview sale offered to Friends members only will be held on Thursday, May 30 from 4  to 6 p.m. Those interested can become a Friends member at the door for $15 per person, $20 per family or $10 per senior or senior family.

Organizers of the event say books will be organized by category, and most of the books that will be offered were not available at previous Friends’ sales.

Organizers say sale will feature a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction titles, including many children’s books, as well as many large print book and a selection of books about religion. Organizers say shoppers can also Look for additional titles about business, hobbies, music, self-help, travel, history, sci-fi and more, as well as specially priced books in various subjects, including art, military, cooking and crafts.

As with past sales, those with the Friends say books will still cost just 50 cents to $1 each.

In addition, organizers say there will music CDs for sale for just $1 each and DVD movies and audiobooks for just $2 each.

Shoppers can also purchase a Friends logo tote bag for $10, which includes a $2 discount toward all Friends’ books/media sales.

Also, the first 300 shoppers to purchase items will receive a $1 coupon that may be used at any upcoming Friends sale, including the next one scheduled for Sept. 5 to Sept. 8.

Those who attend the sale can also show the Friends support by donating gently used books, CDs and DVDs, especially children’s books and trade paperbacks to be offered at future books sales.

Those looking to donate items can leave items on the donation cart located in the rear of the library by the door near the blue awning.

All Friends book sale proceeds benefit Burlington County Library programming, such as the children’s Summer Reading Program, the Sundays on Stage series and the Museum Pass Program.
