Garden State Chorale returns with spring concert

On Saturday May 11, the Garden State Chorale will be presenting their annual spring pops concert. The Chorale is now in its 88th year and includes singers from throughout South Jersey. They are under the direction of Nicholas Petroski and are accompanied by Pauline Worusski.

This year’s concert theme is “The World Around Us” featuring song titles about the earth’s environment, nature, weather and the heavens above. Selections will sample a variety of musical genres including gospel/spiritual;  jazz/swing; popular standards and contemporary. You’re sure to hear lots of familiar melodies and be introduced to a few new ones, too.

Throughout the year, the Chorale raises funds for its annual scholarship program, which awards a worthy South Jersey high school senior who will be pursuing a college education in vocal music studies. As an added treat, you’ll get to hear the outstanding scholarship recipient for 2019 perform at this concert!

Matinee and evening performances will take place at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Trinity Presbyterian Church located at 499 Marlton Pike in Cherry Hill.

Tickets are available at donation prices of $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $8 for students.
