Sean Savage, 45, from Clementon, was indicted on charges of strict liability for drug-induced death (first degree), distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (third degree), possession of a controlled dangerous substance (third degree) and intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (third degree).

Officials say the investigation began when police were called to a Hopewell Road residence in Marlton on Feb. 20, 2018, at which time police discovered the deceased body of an adult male who appeared to have overdosed.

Officials say the investigation revealed that the drugs responsible for causing the fatal overdose were allegedly purchased from Savage. The New Jersey State Police Fugitive Unit arrested Savage in Camden on Sept. 18, 2018.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Jeremy Lackey. The investigation was conducted by the Evesham Township Police (NJ) and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office. The lead investigator was Det. Andrew Beuschel.
