Mt. Laurel Police now accepting applications for Junior Police Academy

The academy will be held in August for those entering the seventh or eighth grade in September.

The Mt. Laurel Police Department is now accepting applications for its 4th annual MLPD Junior Police Academy, which will be held in August.

According to officials, the fourth annual MLPD Junior Police Academy is open to qualified boys and girls interested in law enforcement who will be entering the seventh or eighth grade in September 2019.

This five-day course will include various presentations on law enforcement topics, hands-on practical scenarios, instruction in military drill and physical fitness training.

Officials say the objective is to provide a week of education and fun through a police academy format to the youth of the community who are interested in law enforcement.

The MLPD Junior Police Academy will be held at the Harrington Middle School from Monday, Aug. 12, to Friday, Aug. 16, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
