Mantua Township patrol summary, March 7–13

The following are on file at the Mantua Township Police Department

March 7

  • A resident reported a phone scam in which the caller advised that their son was in jail and they needed to send money.
  • Officers responded to a crash on the Route 55 off ramp onto Glassboro Road.
  • Units assisted a motorist who had locked their keys in their vehicle, while at their house, while their dogs were inside of the vehicle.
  • Officers conducted parking enforcement inside the Timbercrest Development.
  • Officers took a report of theft of gas from the Super Wawa in which a license plate was obtained.
  • Patrols responded to a report that the caller’s boyfriend stole her vehicle. The vehicle was entered stolen into NCIC.
  • Units investigated a house that had questionable living conditions for the children that were present.
  • Charges were filed against three subjects involved in a shoplifting from February 16. The subjects were positively identified and charged with shoplifting and related offenses.

March 8

  • Officers took a harassment complaint that is on-going between a granddaughter and her grandmother.
  • Officers responded to a minor crash involving a township trash truck and another vehicle.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a car stop and arrested the driver for possession of drugs.
  • The Police Explorers were voluntarily patrolling Chestnut Branch Park during the evening hours.
  • Units responded to a crash on Glassboro Road near Route 55.
  • Officers responded to a crash in which a vehicle struck a deer on Main Street.
  • Officers responded to a harassment complaint in which a subject is continually calling the victims.

March 9

  • Officers responded to a burglary in which the homeowner checked his surveillance cameras and found his door forced open.
  • Officers conducted their monthly car seat safety course at the Mantua Township Fire Department where anyone can come, without an appointment, to ensure that their car seats are installed correctly and safely.
  • Units responded to a crash in the Lowe’s parking lot in which one driver could not exit his car.
  • Units responded to a crash in the Wawa parking lot on Glassboro Road.
  • Patrols responded to a child custody dispute in which a guardian refused to turn a child over to another guardian.
  • Officers took a report for lost shares certificates.
  • Units responded to a young female who was acting out of control and needed to go to the crisis center.
  • Officers responded to a minor crash in the Villages of Berkley.
  • Officers took a report for a food delivery driver stealing an object from the resident’s house.
  • Officers responded to a complaint of juveniles playing ding, dong dash.
  • Officers responded to a female who was intoxicated and was bit by her dog.

March 10

  • Units supervised community service workers that cleaned up litter on Bridgeton Pike in the area of Mt. Royal Road.
  • Ptl. Donovan and his K-9 partner, Boomer, assisted Harrison Township Police with locating a missing juvenile that had ran from their home.
  • Units responded to a neighbor complaint in which one neighbor continually comes onto his property and moving brush around a drain.
  • Units responded to a two-vehicle crash on Mantua Boulevard near Norris Street in which a vehicle left the roadway and struck the front porch of a house.

March 11

  • Officers responded to Newpoint Behavioral Health on Main Street for a patient that was acting out of control.
  • Units took a report for a victim who stated her step-daughter was threatening her.
  • Units responded to JMT School for a vehicle that struck a parked school bus with no kids on it.
  • Officers took a report in which the victims credit card was used in Philadelphia.
  • Units took a harassment complaint in which the victim was threatened.
  • Officers took possession of a purse that was found on Woodbury-Glassboro Road.

March 12

  • Officers assisted Woolwich Police and located a missing juvenile that was staying at a friend’s house in Mantua.
  • Units responded to a dog barking at 2 a.m. Officers located the owners and the dog was brought in.
  • Ptl. Donovan and his K-9 partner, Boomer, assisted Harrison Police at Clearview Middle School for a bomb threat.
  • Officers came across a work zone that was set up improperly and removed them from the roadway until they could be in compliance.
  • Officers took a report for a threatening letter that was left on the victim’s windshield.
  • Patrols responded to a crash in the area of Glassboro Road and Route 55 in which one occupant received a back injury.
  • Officers went to JMT School and Wenonah Elementary to teach L.E.A.D./D.A.R.E. to various classes.
  • Units responded to an intoxicated subject who was making threats of harming themselves. They were taken to the crisis center for treatment.
  • Units assisted a motorist that was locked out of their vehicle at the Target store.

March 13

  • Officers conducted parking enforcement in the Timberline Shopping Center
  • Officers took a report for a victim that stated their house was burglarized.
  • Units responded to a hit-and-run crash in the area of the Planet Fitness on Route 45.
  • Patrols responded to a two-vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Mantua Boulevard.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Route 45 in the area of Boody Mill Road.
  • Units responded to a crash on Lambs Road at Tylers Mill Road where one person was injured and a tow truck was requested.
  • Ptl. Bair conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants.
