Mantua Township patrol summary, Feb. 20–27

Feb. 20

  • Patrols responded to a domestic dispute at a Heritage Store and arrested a female for assault. A search of her person revealed she was holding drugs on her.
  • Officers responded to an overdose in which a 37-year-old female was transported to the hospital for treatment
  • Officers responded to a crash in Wenonah on Maple Street by Glassboro Road.
  • Units responded to a single-vehicle crash in which a vehicle struck a pole and the driver left prior to our arrival.
  • Patrols responded to two separate crashes on Main Street in the area of New Street involving two vehicles each.
  • Officers responded to a delivery truck that had struck a light pole, causing it to come down across the roadway.
  • Officers assisted an NJ Transit bus that was stuck in the snow on Main Street.
  • Units responded to a vehicle that slid into the woods at Jackson Road by Route 45.
  • Chief White assisted a motorist that was stuck in the snow on Center Street.
  • Officers took a harassment report in which the victim believes they are being blackmailed.
  • Units responded to a tractor-trailer that slid off the road on Breakneck Road.
  • Units investigated a road rage incident that happened on Route 55, but drove through Mantua.
  • Patrols responded to a two vehicle crash on Glassboro Road in the area of Mantua Boulevard.

Feb. 21

  • Ptl. Mroz and his K-9 partner, Zuke, assisted Glassboro Police Department with a vehicle sniff.
  • Officers responded to the Wenonah Lake for people walking their dog without a leash.
  • Officers responded to a condo for gas fumes coming from inside the house. The fire department stood by until South Jersey Gas could respond.
  • Officers responded to Chestnut Branch Park for a report of a light standard smoking.
  • Officers responded to a person that had passed away from a suspected overdose.
  • Patrols responded to the Target store for a disturbance between employees and a customer that involved pushing and shouting.
  • Officers responded to the Wawa on Route 45 for a shoplifting of food. Officers were able to obtain a suspect and the investigation continues, pending charges.

Feb. 22

  • Ptl. Crispin located a suspicious vehicle at the Heritage store after they had closed that was occupied by a male. When he approached the vehicle, the vehicle fled. Ptl. Crispin and Sgt. Hayes were able to successfully apprehend the subject and arrested and charged him with eluding.
  • Officers assisted a motorist at the Wawa store who had locked their keys in their vehicle.
  • Units responded to the Wawa store on Route 45 for a shoplifter.
  • Units responded to a parking complaint at the Target store as a vehicle parked so close to another that the caller could not enter their vehicle.
  • Officers responded to a crash in which a vehicle was left in gear and crashed into the garage.
  • Units responded to a suspicious person banging on the Dollar General door after they had closed. Subject was located and was found to be out of gas and was looking for help from the employees at Dollar General.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested two occupants for possession of drugs and several traffic offenses.

Feb. 23

  • Ptl. Schnarr conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the driver for driving under the influence.
  • Officers conducted parking enforcement at the Kohl’s store.
  • Officers responded to an unwanted person in which the person left voluntarily once we arrived.
  • Ptl. Sheilds assisted Paulsboro Police Department with an arrest.
  • Officers conducted parking enforcement in the Timberline Shopping center.
  • Units responded to a subject who had overdosed and died.
  • Ptl. Donovan and his K-9 partner, Boomer, assisted Woolwich Police Department with a subject who had fled a vehicle after crashing.
  • Units responded to a dwelling fire in which the chimney was on fire. Officers stood by while the fire department extinguished it.

Feb. 24

  • Officers assisted Pitman Police Department with a car stop in which there was an arrest.
  • Officers investigated a subject who had wanted to himself or herself and had left the house on foot. Responding officers requested a tracking a canine to respond and the subject was eventually located, unharmed and transported to the hospital for treatment.
  • Units responded to a domestic dispute between boyfriend and girlfriend in which the victim’s tire were being slashed. The accused was arrested and transported to the county jail
  • Officers responded to a tree branch that had fallen into the roadway on Tyler’s Mill Road and was removed by the officer.
  • Officers also responded to a tree that had fallen on Main Street by Burger Fence. Officers were also able to remove that one.

Feb. 25

  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for an outstanding warrant.
  • Officers responded to a suspicious incident in which the caller thought he heard voices inside his house. Officers checked the house and it was secure, however, the caller’s hide-a-key was located exposed in the yard.
  • Units removed a tree branch that was partially blocking Breakneck Road in the area of Shadowbrook Trail.
  • Units responded to a domestic disturbance in which the accused was throwing items at the caller’s vehicle.
  • Officers responded to a tree branch that had fallen and broken a vehicle window.
  • Patrols responded to a brush fire on Boody Mill Road that may have been caused by an arcing electrical wire.
  • Patrols responded to a tree that had fallen on Carriage Hill Circle.
  • Officers responded to a wire that had fallen on Main Street in the area of Center Street.
  • Units responded to a crash on Center Street in the area of New Street.
  • Officers had to close a portion of Heritage Road for a low-hanging wire until the electric company could respond.

Feb. 26

  • Ptl. Mroz conducted a car stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants.
  • Officers responded to a vehicle fire that was parked close to the house and caught part of the house on fire. There were no injuries reported.
  • Units responded to a crash on Main Street near Mt. Royal Road where one vehicle needed to be towed.
  • Officers responded to the Fulton Bank for a subject who was not permitted inside the building.
  • Units responded to a subject who wanted to harm himself because he was wanted for outstanding warrants. He was found unharmed, cleared medically and lodged in the county jail.
  • Ptl Riepen and his K-9 partner, Bane, assisted Harrison Police Department with a sniff of a vehicle during a car stop in which there was a positive indication.
  • Officers took a report for a subject who received a threatening voicemail from their sister.
  • Units responded to a domestic disturbance between an adult son and his parents. It was just a verbal argument at this time.

Feb. 27

  • Officers took a report for a subject that lost their driver’s license.
  • Units responded to a single-vehicle crash in which a vehicle ran off the road and into an embankment on Breakneck Road.
  • Units responded to a report that a truck had damaged some tree branches in front of his road.
  • Officers responded to an altercation in which a contractor was not being permitted to enter a residence to perform work.
