Parks & Rec. eyes summer programming early

The Department is already gearing up for the warmer months.

By: Amy Filippone, Dept. of Parks & Recreation

The Moorestown Department of Parks and Recreation offers many youth summer programs for 2019. For the first time, the summer parks program will group rising sixth to rising ninth graders together at the New Albany Recreation Center at Jeff Young Park. This decision was based on parent and staff input and allows for more children at Baker and Roberts Schools, which will now run programs for rising kindergartners to rising fifth graders. Overall this re-segmenting will alleviate waitlists, increase overall enrollment (age cap is now 14 years old) and allow for more age appropriate activities, including field trips. All summer programs will be off on July 4 and July 5 for the holiday.
