Borough offering pumps to residents experiencing basement flooding

Residents will be able to sign out pumps for up to one week at a time

From the Borough of Palmyra webpage:

At the suggestion of Mayor Michelle Arnold and after requests from residents for assistance, the Borough has purchased five specialized pumps and hoses to lend to residents who are experiencing flooded basements.

The pumps can be signed out by residents and business owners for up to one week. If there is no one else on the waiting list they can be signed out for another week. Please call (856) 829–8215 to schedule an appointment; the pumps can then be picked up at Public Works from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday, or 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.

Also, the Borough is considering the installation of five piezometer wells to be located throughout the community for the purpose of monitoring ground water levels. The information will be used to assist the Borough in developing a strategy, and to determine whether residents should be notified of abnormally high ground water levels.
