Evesham Township School District opens online, district-wide community survey

Now through Feb. 8, members of the public can share their thoughts on the current state and future of the district.

Now through Feb. 8, the Evesham Township School District has an online, district-wide community survey open for members of the public to share input to be used in the creation of the district’s new, five-year plan.

The survey is part of the district’s Vision 2024 initiative, which is looking for the thoughts and concerns of the district’s employees, parents and students, as well as Evesham’s community members, business owners and government leaders.

In addition to the survey, the district previously held three public meetings to gather input from stakeholders related to current points of pride in the district, as well as expectations and desired areas of focus for the future.

According to the district, the final, five-year plan will allow it to focus effort and financial resources on goals that support the district as a whole and its students.

With that, the district has opened the online survey to all who wish to offer their thoughts and ideas.

“I would encourage anyone to go on, take the survey and give us feedback,” Superintendent John Scavelli Jr. said.

According to Scavelli, less than 24 hours after launching the survey, the district had already received input from more than 500 participants.

Also, the district is providing additional information about the state of the district through a “District Summary Report” on the district’s website for those survey takers who wish to learn more about the district before completing the survey.

For those who decide to share input through the survey, officials say the process can be completed within minutes, participants will not be asked to share their name or address, and all responses will remain anonymous.

Participants will be asked to rate if they “strongly agree,” “agree,” “disagree,” “strongly disagree,” or “do not have enough information to make a determination” to some of the following statements:

· The district places a clear focus on the core academic subjects (e.g. reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies).

· The district students have many opportunities to experience varied academics, the arts, and extracurricular activities.

· The district prepares students to succeed in high school and beyond.

· The district possesses strong, dedicated administrative leadership.

· The district communicates clear, accurate information to the community.

· The district provides a safe and secure environment in which students learn.

· The district utilizes taxpayer funds in a responsible manner.

Participants can also share thoughts about the strengths and challenges of the district, as well as additional comments at the end of the survey.

To take the survey, visit the ETSD website at www.evesham.k12.nj.us. The link to the survey is located in the announcements section on the right-hand side of the homepage.
