Palmyra School District hosting community presentation on A.L.I.C.E. program

Presentation will cover school safety, security

Student safety remains a priority for the Palmyra School District. On Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. the district will hold a community presentation on A.L.I.C.E. at Charles Street School.

A.L.I.C.E. (alert, lockdown, inform, counter, evacuate) is a training program to prepare schools and organizations for the possibility of an emergency situation.

According to alicetraining.com, “ALICE Training instructor led classes provide preparation and a plan for individuals and organizations on how to more proactively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or active shooter event. Whether it is an attack by an individual person or by an international group of professionals intent on conveying a political message through violence, ALICE Training option based tactics have become the accepted response, versus the traditional “lockdown only” approach.”

Charles Street School is located at 100 W Charles Street in Palmyra.
