Burlington County Library System announces new series of Friday Night Performances

Visitors can enjoy six shows live in the library’s auditorium in January, February and March.

The Burlington County Library System has announced “Friday Nights at the Library” — a series of live music and dance performances at the Burlington County Library auditorium in Westampton.

‘ Tickets, which cost just $10 per person, per show, are on sale now, and seating is limited.

The Burlington County Library is located at 5 Pioneer Blvd. off Woodlane Road in Westampton. All shows begin at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6:45 p.m. For tickets, please visit www.bcls.lib.nj.us.

Shows are as follows:

  • Jan. 18 — Beatlemania Again — With vintage instruments and costume changes, this group takes the audience on a musical journey back in time to relive the music, the magic and the mania of The Beatles live on stage. Enjoy a selection of the Fab Four’s greatest hits, from their debut on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, to their psychedelic era, to their final live concert on the rooftop of Apple Records in 1969.
  • Jan. 25 — Calpulli Mexican Dance Company — Celebrate the rich dance and music traditions of Mexico and its diverse cultural history. Featuring dancers and live musicians, this performance offers a fresh, vital repertoire that honors Mexico’s past as well as Mexican-American cultural expression in the United States.
  • Feb. 8 — Everyday People — A Tribute to Sly and The Family Stone — Enjoy a fantastic lineup of Sly and the Family Stone’s greatest hits during this performance that features great vocals, incredible musicians and classic costumes. Pivotal in the development of funk, soul, rock, and psychedelic music, Sly and The Family Stone enjoyed a string of number one songs, including the legendary “Everyday People.”
  • Feb. 15 — Philly Soul Collective — A Tribute to the Kings and Queens of Motown — Inspirational musicians and skillful vocalists perform memorable Motown music from legendary groups such as The Temptations, The Ojays, The Stylistics, The Delfonics, Patti Labelle, Chaka Kahn, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, B.B. King and more. Filled with energy, this magnificent show is for all ages.
  • March 1 — Gypsy World Dance — The folk dancing of people from all over the world, gypsy dancing is not only graceful but joyful as well. Developed over 1,000 years, the dances are an expression of freedom, passion and celebration. Skilled dancers and fabulous costumes highlight this dynamic and entertaining performance.
  • March 15 — To the Max- A Tribute to Aretha Franklin and Earth Wind & Fire — Enjoy the music of the acclaimed “Queen of Soul” and one of the most musically accomplished funk bands of the ’70s. Performing songs from these legendary acts, this multi-faceted group of incredibly talented, energetic and professional local artists make this an event to remember.
