Tickets for the event must be purchased by Jan. 21.
Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice has announced it will hold its annual “Celebration of Life Gala,” sponsored by Holman Enterprises, on Feb. 9 at The Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill.
Officials say the gala will feature delicious food, live music by Masquerade, dancing and an online auction with a variety of fabulous prizes.
Jon Runyan, retired Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle and NFL vice president of policy and rules administration, will serve as emcee.
This year’s gala theme is “TEAM,” celebrating the diverse teams of people — medical hospice and palliative teams, as well as volunteers, donors, boards/committees and others — who work together each day to support Samaritan patients and their families.
“At Samaritan, success is not measured by the sole contributions of one individual. Our success lies in our ability to work together as a team — utilizing our expertise and compassion to provide comfort and quality of life to our patients and their families,” explained Mary Ann Boccolini, president and CEO of Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice. “This year’s gala celebrates all of the extraordinary people that make up our Samaritan family. Their dedication and hard work allows us to remain a premier provider of hospice, palliative care, grief support services, and more in the region.”
Keeping with the “TEAM” theme, Samaritan will recognize three local families for their dedication to the organization throughout the years.
The families are as follows:
- The Buehler family of Marlton — Three generations of Buehlers have found creative and diverse ways to contribute to Samaritan throughout the years. From holding volunteer board and committee leadership positions to setting up a golf course lemonade stand during Samaritan’s annual golf tournament in memory of their grandpa to funding the Center for Grief Support and printing corporate materials through family-owned LRP&P Graphics, the Buehlers believe in Samaritan’s mission.
- The Gladden family of Willingboro — The Gladdens serve as dedicated Samaritan ambassadors in memory of their daughter and sister, Deadra — building awareness and understanding from the family’s perspective at local, state and national forums. As ambassadors, they are inspired and supported by the life-affirming benefits of palliative and hospice care and are happy to share that message with all those they encounter.
- The Mancine family of Cinnaminson — Three generations of Mancines have broadened their relationship with Samaritan over the years. Through volunteer board service, golf committee leadership, support for Samaritan’s annual Thanksgiving basket project, personal contributions and corporate giving from family-owned Mancine Optical, the Mancines continue to be inspired by Samaritan’s quality comforting care and are happy to advocate on the organization’s behalf.
As an added feature to the evening’s festivities, two winners of the organization’s annual Delightful Dining raffle will also be announced during the event — at $10 each, these unique raffle tickets offer the chance to win twelve $100 dining gift certificates (valued at a total of $1,200) to some of the area’s finest restaurants.
Individual tickets for the gala are $225 each ($143 tax deductible) or one may reserve a table of 10 at $2,000 each ($1,180 tax deductible). Samaritan extends a special event rate of $125 each ($43 tax deductible) to all service members, veterans and/or young professionals age 35 and under.
Tickets must be purchased in advance of the gala date. All ticket orders must be submitted by Jan. 21.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice patients and their families.
